Your brother has an affair with a married woman. What do you do? Tell him he’s an idiot, or perhaps that he’s playing with fire? Or do you support him whilst telling him he’s making a big mistake? Perhaps there are circumstances as to why this has happened and you don’t feel it’s your place to judge? Or perhaps you simply don’t care – after all, it’s not your life. But what if it was made your business in the worst way? What if, simply because of your brother’s indiscretions, you were going to be raped?
WarpedTour is a punk rock institution… and it always will be. There, I’ve said it. You can whine and bitch about how the masses of kids who infiltrate it are “posers” or into way too much pop, but guess what? They don’t care, and in the true spirit of punk, nor should you. As a teenager in the UK I could only dream of going to WarpedTour, and in 2012 I made it a reality when some friends of mine (Rise To Remain, now As Lions) were on the tour playing all summer and they invited me to join them. It was incredible and I became hooked! In total, I’ve been to six Warped USA dates, and a British one, too. This year’s was super fun as always, because who doesn’t love a California catch up?
I love London, but it’s not exactly cocktails on a sunny beach! I’m new to calling the city my home, but whilst I’m still completely enamoured, it’s always nice to be invited for a little break away. Full disclosure: I wasn’t ACTUALLY invited to Spain, but the lovely Frankie who does PR for Mahou did invite me to their very own version in the city, and I must admit they did a pretty good job at being Spanish!
Not many of you will know this, but I am actually a mummy. My baby isn’t quite conventional: he’s fluffy, ginger and he bites me a lot. I love him to pieces though, although he no longer lives with me. Don’t worry, I didn’t abandon a tiny human. To be fair… most people actually do know this because I never shut up about him; my baby is a cat named Zeus, and today is his first birthday.
Having just moved to London, I’m currently working on a big project for a student accommodation company who I’ve freelanced with for over 18 months. Despite graduating two years ago and feeling happy in my career, in some respects it’s like I never left university behind – I actually even live in my client’s student accommodation this summer to make life easier while I do the work I’ve been doing! University was a fun time, but I think it’s important to remember that it’s different for everyone, and my own route wasn’t always easy…
I absolutely love getting my hair blown out, so when I was invited by Rush Hair to celebrate their Kilburn salon opening, I jumped at the opportunity. I can never quite achieve the same results at home even if I try, so I always love the experience of a blow dry from a pro.
Camden has been my favorite haunt in London (in fact, in the whole UK) for quite some time now, so when I decided to collaborate with Pia Meads Photography for some Outfit Of The Day posts, I was over the moon that she suggested we shoot in this awesome, eclectic location. I feel like it fits the vibe I’m trying to portray perfectly; merging style with music and highlighting fashion with an edge. I love gigs, and dressing up for them, so I’ll be running a mini-series from the shoot with that kind of theme in mind. It’s basically the only time I feel like I have dressing appropriately down!
Soho is an incredible place to hang out, whether you want food, drinks, shopping, or anything else. Recently I decided I absolutely must try Flat Iron, famed for its £10 steak. I don’t regret it for a second.
