What Is Life Without A Purpose? What Is Purpose Without Love?

As some of you may know, I am officially single this year for Valentine’s Day. I’ve been so busy sorting out my life after a (mostly) rubbish 2015 that I hadn’t really stopped to notice the date; but now it’s looming and I can’t really avoid it. Despite being single now and having had some bad experiences, I don’t hate the notion of love at all. I’m not bitter! In fact, I embrace it, and I think that Valentine’s Day is a great time to enjoy when you have a partner.

20 Things We’re Dying To Do On Parahoy 2016

Parahoy 2016: It’s coming! Whether you’ve got a ticket for this incredible extravaganza or not, you can’t deny that the premise is absolutely INCREDIBLE, and the average Paramore fan would most likely give their record collection or snip off their brightly coloured hair to be able to attend. What is it? It’s a Sixthman cruise, a festival, and a party, all in one – with Paramore. Wow. Now that the Parahoy 2016 schedule has finally been released, I’m already thinking about what I want to do most (even though I know I’m probably going to be too hungover for some of the daytime activities). So, whether you’re playing pretend or you’re literally getting on board, here are the top picks of activities and fun things to do at the best event ever – round two!

5 Reasons To Travel More In The UK

I am always shocked when people act really surprised about the fact I travel so often around the UK. I mean, to me, this country is so small, and there are so many deals that I feel it’s really obvious that it’s a simple way to see more places without even needing a passport. However, it’s not always such a given for other people – I really wonder why that is – but maybe with a slight nudge they might venture on out more…

Blogging As A Freelance Writer

When I started my blog, I was working full time in a content based role at a digital agency. I’d talked about having a blog for years – I wanted a space on the Internet that I could call my own. It was the perfect time to get one, too, because of all the expertise I now had in the area. However, I’ve just not been feeling it lately, and I think it’s got something to do with the fact that I write for a living. I’ve been fully freelance since summer 2015, and after a long week of writing, often the last thing I want to do is write any more. Blogging as a freelance writer can be tiring!

Ice Bar Rocks, London

I know, I know. This is super late. I’m mortified to find this in my drafts, unposted. My site was down for a while (boo) and I’ve also been away on my travels  (don’t worry, more to come on that front!). Anyway, I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Ice Bar Rocks at the Ice Bar in London, and it was right up my street. Food & drink? Check. Something quirky? Check. Rock theme? Um hello, I am so sold! Continue reading

Busted, Gateway Guitar Bands & Why We Should Support Them

Yesterday marked the day that many people have been looking forward to for years: Busted are back. After a lot of rumors, deliberation and the age old question (will Charlie Simpson EVER return?) it’s finally happened and there’s gonna be a big old reunion. However, some people didn’t receive this news particularly graciously, and instead of throwing a party and jumping on the welcoming committee, they outwardly expressed disgust. Fine, we all have our views! But why are pop-rock bands some of the most sneered at in the industry? And why does the music that a musician creates have to be limited to just one genre?

Ski Dubai, Mall Of The Emirates

I told more than one friend I was going to Ski Dubai and in more than one case, their response was the same. “HOW is it possible that you’re going SKIING in the DESERT?”, and phrases to that extent. Ski Dubai is one of the world’s biggest and best fake snow experience centres, offering skiing, snowboarding, djdkdk and more, and it’s set right in the heart of one of Dubai’s greatest shopping malls of all places – Mall of the Emirates.

Gaucho Restaurant, Dubai

I’ve always loved food, but it’s only been in the last few years that I’ve *really* had something to say. Gaucho is an established name back in the UK and I’d heard so much about it. After one of my best friends visited for her birthday recently with me all the way over in the UAE, I decided to Google it… just to look. I was overjoyed to find that it had branched out to the Emirates and so I booked myself a table whilst on my trip to Dubai.  Continue reading
