So, Parahoy 2 has now been and gone, and I for one can’t get over it. We collectively have so many memories, and we’ve made so many new friends. Yet again, Parahoy was something incredibly special. Alumni like myself will relate; Parahoy as an experience is how I imagine motherhood. You love both of your children equally, despite the fact that they are both so, so different. I’d found myself worrying that this time wouldn’t live up to the last, but Parahoy 1 and Parahoy 2 are two totally different things, and each was special in their own unique way. Before I get on with my list, I wanted to direct everyone to my coverage printed in Rock Sound. Parahoy 2016: It’s coming! Whether you’ve got a ticket for this incredible extravaganza or not, you can’t deny that the premise is absolutely INCREDIBLE, and the average Paramore fan would most likely give their record collection or snip off their brightly coloured hair to be able to attend. If we could go back to my teenage years and ask me precisely what I wanted to do with my life, I’d say absolutely, categorically, that I wanted a career I could be happy in, the opportunity to travel, and the chance to keep on seeing the bands I love, preferably around the world. Nothing’s changed. I’m lucky in that at 25, I’m at least sort of living that dream. Sure, I may be slightly jaded, even disenfranchised somewhat, but stories like this one that I’m about to tell continue to give me hope. In fact, it’s a ton of stories, intertwined into one, inspired by a common love. My one wish is that this hope never dies.
