How To To Pack Up Your Life & Leave Literally Everything

Just over six months ago, I got on a plane departing from London Heathrow towards Australia. If we’re going to be technical, the plane was actually headed to Shanghai… but my final destination was Sydney. The last six months have shown me that anything is possible, and so here I am. Still. Sydney is my new home… for now.

My Bucket List: Achievements & Goals

Back in May of 2014, I wrote a Bucket List for my life. It’s been really interesting seeing what I’ve achieved so far, and of course, what I haven’t. Whilst some things have definitely changed and now seem far away (ahem…marriage and kids), I have time to work on those aspects in the future, and my priorities aren’t what they once were. In fact, I’m actually at the point where I realise that to live my life fully, I just need to let it happen.

Carve Your Own Path In Life: “You Do You”

Having just moved to London, I’m currently working on a big project for a student accommodation company who I’ve freelanced with for over 18 months. Despite graduating two years ago and feeling happy in my career, in some respects it’s like I never left university behind – I actually even live in my client’s student accommodation this summer to make life easier while I do the work I’ve been doing! University was a fun time, but I think it’s important to remember that it’s different for everyone, and my own route wasn’t always easy…

It’s Time For A Change

I’ve taken a hiatus from my blog recently. There are a lot of things in my life which have taken precedence, and I’ll admit, I’ve kind of temporarily checked out of living, not just blogging. It’s been one of the last things on my mind. I guess this is just some sort of explanation as to what’s been going on, mostly to myself.

Losing A Close Friend: Five Years On

This is a post I wasn’t sure whether to write, but I personally DO write when there’s something I need to say, and that’s the point. Five years ago today, I lost one of my best friends, Faye Josephine Ogden. Only, I didn’t ‘lose’ her, she died, at just 20 years old. When she was a bit younger, it started as Ovarian cancer, and things seemed to look up after she bravely had all of her treatment. Sadly, the cancer then spread very suddenly after we thought she was in remission, and it attacked all of her organs. One part of me can’t believe it’s been so long, but the other part feels like so much has changed. I’m going to tell you Faye’s story, and how mine has changed forever since her passing.

My Year: 2014

So this is super late, but what with heading to Paris (post to come!), working full time and completing freelance projects – both to help pay my bills and for my travel – sadly my blog has been sidelined. However, one of my resolutions for 2015 is to blog way more! Last year, 2014, was probably my best on this planet though, so I really feel like I owe it to myself to document it. 2014 was the year I made things official with Dougie, my boyfriend, the year I went to America three times, the year I visited eight countries, went to eleven(?) festivals, the year I really got my career on the road and among all that, moved to a new city.

There was a lot, but I’ll try to keep it brief! Continue reading
