I am always shocked when people act really surprised about the fact I travel so often around the UK. I mean, to me, this country is so small, and there are so many deals that I feel it’s really obvious that it’s a simple way to see more places without even needing a passport. However, it’s not always such a given for other people – I really wonder why that is – but maybe with a slight nudge they might venture on out more…
I know, I know. This is super late. I’m mortified to find this in my drafts, unposted. My site was down for a while (boo) and I’ve also been away on my travels (don’t worry, more to come on that front!). Anyway, I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of IceBarRocks at the IceBar in London, and it was right up my street. Food & drink? Check. Something quirky? Check. Rock theme? Um hello, I am so sold!Continue reading →
Have you ever had a meal so good that you almost couldn’t cope? I have, but thankfully I did cope, and at that, I coped incredibly well. Crocker’s Folly in St John’s Wood is an absolute delight, and if you’ve not been yet then you must – immediately.
I absolutely love getting my hair blown out, so when I was invited by Rush Hair to celebrate their Kilburn salon opening, I jumped at the opportunity. I can never quite achieve the same results at home even if I try, so I always love the experience of a blow dry from a pro.
Camden has been my favorite haunt in London (in fact, in the whole UK) for quite some time now, so when I decided to collaborate with Pia Meads Photography for some Outfit Of The Day posts, I was over the moon that she suggested we shoot in this awesome, eclectic location. I feel like it fits the vibe I’m trying to portray perfectly; merging style with music and highlighting fashion with an edge. I love gigs, and dressing up for them, so I’ll be running a mini-series from the shoot with that kind of theme in mind. It’s basically the only time I feel like I have dressing appropriately down!
Soho is an incredible place to hang out, whether you want food, drinks, shopping, or anything else. Recently I decided I absolutely must try Flat Iron, famed for its £10 steak. I don’t regret it for a second.
Uprawr is back – yessss! Although my favorite rock night is no longer located in the Purple Turtle (RIP), it’s returned with a vengeance to its original home, Dingwalls, in the heart of Camden Lock. This is where I got my first taste of the madness back in January 2012, and it’s even better than I remembered it.
I recently went to a blogger event hosted by the absolutely wonderful Fiona aka The Escapologist’s Daughter. This was an event with a twist – we were all invited specifically to help fight cancer. We paid a donation to attend, and there were plenty of other ways for us to help out throughout the night. We raised money for Cancer Research, but we also met plenty of other inspiring women. With manicures, crafts, snacks, drinks, massages, a raffle and products designed to specifically fight cancer (I’ll get to that!), this was a lovely girls’ night with a difference. Think of it like Race For Life but with no running… that suits me.
